Unlike standard magic items that roll random affixes, Runewords are created with intention. You start by finding a common item base that has empty sockets. Then, you socket specific runes into that base in a precise order. If you insert the correct combination, the item transforms into a powerful Runeword with fixed, often extraordinary, stats.

Why should you care about Runewords? Because they offer consistency in a game defined by randomness. You might play for hours without finding a Legendary item that fits your class.
